Self-guided walking tours of the exterior of Heritage Square Museum homes are currently available. I came here during the 2019 Museum of the Arroyo Day and really enjoyed it. So when a friend of mine posted a picture of this house I knew I had to see it in person. It was a very short drive from Casa Walsh and was close to Eaton Canyon where I was hiking later that day. This house is picturesque and has a fabulous fairytale vibe to it. I wish I could visit the iconic Braverman house that Zeke and Camile owned on Parenthood but that was built on the Universal Backlots. However, there are locations where the many other characters lived that can be visited. This Pasadena home is where Adam & Kristina raise their three children on the show.
I recently had the opportunity to see the inside of the home when it went on sale as it turns out that I knew the realtor. I wasn’t feeling well the day I was supposed to go so I had to pass on the experience. I know it doesn’t look like the set but getting to go inside such an iconic house is a rare chance. But the plot—about Lewis (Owen Vaccaro), a newly orphaned pre-teen who becomes a powerful warlock with some help from kooky uncle Jonathan (Jack Black)—is mostly adequate. And the scene-to-scene pacing is patient enough to establish the importance of certain key plot points and character dynamics.

The hollyhock was Aline’s favorite flower and was used as a theme throughout the house. Even if you cannot tour the home it is visible from the park and the city views are wonderful as well.
This is the only Neutra designed home that is available for tours. It is called the research house because it was built with a loan from a patron. A fire destroyed most of the house in 1963 and was rebuilt by Neutra’s son with the Dad’s oversight. The Gilmore Girls House is located on the Warner Bros Lot and can be seen on the studio tour as long as they are not filming in that area. Your best chance to see it is on the weekends when little to no filming is happening.
For the last two Christmases, the studio has decorated the home for the holidays which has been incredible to see. The Happy Days House is located near Paramount Studios where the show was filmed. I visited Garry Marshall’s grave the day after I came to see this house so it felt like a very full-circle moment. Eames House is another home you might not have heard of if you’re not into architecture, but if you are, it is a home you must check out.
And the menagerie of computer-generated monsters, which includes talking dummies and sentient jack-o'-lanterns, are slick-looking. Lewis spots Isaac in the window of a house of a neighbor, Mrs. Hanchett. He "rescues" her from Isaac and brings her across the street to Jonathan's house, but before he can find Jonathan, Isaac confronts them at the front door. He reveals that Mrs. Hanchett is really Selena, who killed Mrs. Hanchett, took her place, and used her bones to make the clock's key. It was also Selena who took the form of Lewis's mother to persuade him to summon Isaac.
